OUTLAW — Mr. James Cannie “J.C.” Outlaw III, 66, passed away during the morning of Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 at his home in St. Marys, Ga.
Mr. Outlaw was born Sept. 10, 1956, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late James Jr. and Ethel Mae Outlaw.
J.C. was known as “the Voice of the Cats” of Wildcat sports. He broadcasted his first game in 1982 and continued for 37 years. His love of Wildcat football was shown not only through his broadcasts on Friday night, but out of the press box as well. He was a member of the Camden County Quarterback Club, and you could always find him watching from the sidelines at practices. Aside from football, he also had the opportunity to broadcast Wildcat baseball games.
J.C. loved all sports and spent time as a referee and umpire for youth sports. If he was not busy with the above, you could find him at home watching sports on TV and commentating the game in his own way.
J.C. was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was a loving and caring man who never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Mr. Outlaw is survived by his wife, Debbie Outlaw of St. Marys, Ga.; children, Heather (Darrell) Vanzant of White Oak, Ga., and James (Ami) Outlaw of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Sharon (Thomas) Woods and Sheila (Henry) Buchanan; grandchildren, Hayden Outlaw, Brooke
Vanzant, Camden Outlaw, Hunter Vanzant and Melodi Outlaw; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation for the Outlaw Family will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. A graveside service will be noon Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, in Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine, Ga., with James Roberson presiding.

From Reports... someone heard a crash sound and a body was found on Lonestar Rd. across the street from Lone Star Elementary school. Reportedly a man's body in his 20's was found at the scene. The driver & the car left the scene. An investigation is underway by JSO in Jacksonville, FL. Pedestrians being hit by cars has been a big problem in Jacksonville, FL. and surrounding area's this year and for the past few years as well. These deaths are sad to report. A routine traffic stop in Nassau County, FL. in the very early morning hours of last Friday morning, Sept. 24th, 2021 in the 2:00 A.M. in the morning hour resulted in a shooting as the officer Nassau County Sherriff's Deputy Joshua Moyer approached a vehicle, apparently from reports the suspect pulled down his window and shot Deputy Joshua Moyer in the face and back with two shots. Then the suspect took off and ran through the train tracks with his vehicle and then later took off on foot and may have gone under a house or shed and then got away into the vast wooded area in Nassau County, FL. and there has been a manhunt in progress since early Friday morning. Still as of Monday morning the shooter 34 year old "suspect" Patrick McDowell has still not be found. Meanwhile 29 year old Deputy Joshua Moyer was rushed to the Hospital in critical condition where reportedly two days later in terminal condition "Joshua Moyer" sadly passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26th, 2021 according to reports. Still a manhunt for the suspect "Patrick McDowell" still going on as of Monday, Sept. 27th, 2021. As many as 15 factions of law enforcement have been involved in this incident in Nassau County, FL. Sadly, Human remains found Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 18th right before 3:00 P.M. at a Construction site in Oceanway, Duval County on the Northside of Town. The Human remains were found in a pile of dirt. JSO is now investigating...The remains have been sent to a Lab for DNA testing. Looks like the remains after DNA testing has turned out to be from an old Graveyard or Cemetary with some of the remains dating back to as long ago as 1936. The remains were found during a construction project in the Oceanway area near Main street and the 95-295 interchange project. The 16 year old Raines HS Student that was shot outside the Terry Parker High School Football Stadium but still on school property was rushed to UF Health last night with life threatening injuries. The shooting took place back on Friday night, May 17th just after 9:00 p.m. with about 4 minutes to go in the spring football game at Terry Park High School in the Arlington area in Jacksonville, Florida just outside Joe Hodge Stadium. The shooting is now under investigation by JSO. The police are now looking for the gunmen. A Red P.T. Cruiser was involved with a wreck with a White Ford Truck on Friday Night, Dec. 21st at approximately 6:10 P.M. near Walton and Beach Blvd. here in Jacksonville, FL. Both Drivers walked away without any serious Injuries but Major Damage to both Vehicles. Your Editor reports that both Drivers did contact the Police shortly after the Wreck. At approximately 6:15 A.M. Wednesday morning, Sept. 19th a Black colored Car pulled up and shot a Westside HS student while he was walking to the Bus, reportedly the male student at least 17 years old it is believed he was shot in the Chest, someone from the Black Car had opened fire and shot the student near Lane Ave. and Miss Muffett Ln. according to Updated Reports. The Driver of the Black Car fled the scene. The Quick thinking Bus Driver rushed the victim to the nearby Fire Station #22 on Jammes Rd., then the critically injured student was rushed to the Hospital at UF Health from the latest reports. We understand the student is in surgery now today and in Critical Condition. JSO was on the scene and investigated this shooting. Some Good News Now: We understand the victim of the Shooting has now been identified as 17 year old Javon Mills and he has survived the shooting after being operated on at UF Health and also continuing to receive medical treatment. Dustin Theobald has been recovering at Home from a recent Shark Bite back on Friday, July 13th at Fernandina Beach. The Shark most likely a 4 foot "Bull Shark" likely following some food, perhaps a school of fish found Dustin Theobald's right foot also unforunately. My take- We will keep dissecting the Jaguars Draft some the next few days...But here's some early thoughts so far...... I really like the Fortner pick of the Center out of Kentucky in the third round with the 65th pick overall. Center Luke Fortner was probably one of the top 3 Center's coming out of College. Luke Fortner is capable of playing Center or Guard. Jaguars Coach Doug Pederson appears to like Fortner as a Center right now. Didn't expect a LB as early as the late first round. But if he's the real deal LB Devin Lloyd could be a Big-Time player on the Jags Defense. LB was an area of need. I just didn't expect the LB pick that quick late in the first round, had to trade some other picks to accomplish this. So the Jags front office is a big believer in LB Devin Lloyd out of Utah. I hope number 1 overall pick Georgia DE Travon Walker will be a good or even Great pass rusher! The Ole Miss RB pick has some value I feel. He knows where the End Zone is. The Jacksonville Jaguars getting two young but veteran NFL wide receivers in Free agency in Christian Kirk and now Zay Jones as discussed in this article. This is the Big J Report... Your Editor's Dad Mr. N.M. Mullis Jr. "Better known as Mr. Sonny Mullis" passed away and left this Earth on Sept. 29th, 2020. Mr. Sonny Mullis was 85 of Jacksonville, FL. and he will be missed by his family, friends and many others who knew him. Mr. Sonny Mullis was born in Jacksonville, FL. on Dec. 11th, 1934 to his parents "Mr. N.M. Mullis Sr. & Virginia Kirkand Mullis. Sonny grew up in Jacksonville, FL. and attended & graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL. Sonny had one brother George Kirkland Mullis and one sister "Mrs. Sue Mullis Kolb". After graduating from Lee High School in 1953, Sonny enrolled at the University of Florida for one year before transferring to Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. where he met his wife Mrs. Jamie Beatty Mullis, his wife for over 60 years. Sonny graduated from Florida Southern College and also got married to Jamie Beatty Mullis on Jan. 3rd, 1959 in Orlando, FL. at Park Lake Presbyterian Church. After graduation Mr. Sonny Mullis also served his Country by joining the Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas and was in the Air Force reserves after that. After finishing his duties with the Air Force, Sonny worked for the family business "Mullis Poultry" Sonny and his brother Buddy ran the business after their Father N.M. Mullis Sr. passed away around 1967. A few short years later after that they sold "Mullis Poultry" to another company "Drapers" I believe. After selling the Poultry business "Sonny" went to work for a company called American Courier which just a couple of years later changed their name to Purolator Courier. Sonny and his wife Jamie in the meantime had three boys Scott Mullis, Jeffrey Mullis & Patrick Mullis. In 1974 Mr. Sonny Mullis was promoted to Branch Manager with Purolator Courier but had to move to Tampa. After settling in Lakeland, FL. where he graduated from College some years earlier. After almost a year in Lakeland, FL. Sonny was missing Jacksonville, FL. and moved back to Jacksonville in 1975 and he started Direct Delivery, a courier service serving Jacksonville, FL. and surrounding area's for well over 30 years before retiring in about 2007. Mr. Sonny Mullis was a huge Florida Gator Sports fan and supporter of Florida Gator Football, Basketball & Baseball and proudly celebrated National Championships in all three sports. Jacksonville got the NFL Jaguars in 1993 and he became a Jaguars fan as well in his hometown. After suffering a fall in his garage and going through two shoulder surgeries in the last few weeks of his life, Sonny passed away at St. Vincents Hospital in Riverside in Jacksonville, FL. on Sept. 29th, 2020. Mr. Sonny Mullis was 85 and a longtime member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, FL. The Memorial Services for Mr. Sonny Mullis were held back on Friday morning, October 9th, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Naugel Funeral Home's Chapel at 1203 Hendricks Ave. in Jacksonville, FL. Friend and Neighbor Dr. Roy Vining Jr., Pastor of FBC Sanderson, FL. officiated. Many family members and friends attended. In 2020 it's a 10 game total schedule with every team playing all their division opponents once and also each team playing 4 out of the 7 teams in non-division games in other words the other division. At First glance Tennessee may have the toughest non-division draw, the volunteers non-division scheduled games in include...Alabama, Auburn. Texas A&M all strong contenders in the SEC West, Tennessee also will play Arkansas at Home, Arkansas in a rebuild projected by your Editor to be near the bottom of the SEC West. Since mid-March "2020" it's sad to report any deaths, but 81 deaths attributed to Covid-19 from Mid-March 2020 to July 13th "2020" but reportedly now over 7,000 Total cases since March 2020 to the early part of July as of July 4th, 2020... Now cases have increased to over 12,000 as of July 13th, 2020 that is a huge jump in the last ten days here in Duval County. More increasing cases during the entire month of July "2020" and more cases as we start the month of August 2020 now. Covid-19 cases and also deaths accelerated some in the last half of July "2020". Looks like the jump in July was the largest since Covid-19 appeared on the scene in about Mid-March "2020". From 3 separate shootings being investigated by JSO, one in the Paxon area as a woman was found dead Friday morning near 3rd St Circle South again in the Paxon area. At least as many as 3 or 4 people have been detained in the Paxon area shooting. The other 2 shootings occurred near McMillan St. and also in the Brooklyn Rd. area in Northwest Jacksonville, FL. where a man in his 30's was shot and killed at approximately 8:00 P.M. Friday Night. At the McMillan Street shooting near Kings Rd at approximately in the 11:00 Hour Friday Night two men were shot, one in the torso and one in the leg reportedly, both were taken to the hospital for treatment at latest report.

North Florida News..... The April 2022 NFL Draft has concluded now... My take- We will keep dissecting the Jaguars Draft some the next few days...But here's some early thoughts so far...... I really like the Fortner pick of the Center out of Kentucky in the third round with the 65th pick overall. Center Luke Fortner was probably one of the top 3 Center's coming out of College. Luke Fortner is capable of playing Center or Guard. Jaguars Coach Doug Pederson appears to like Fortner as a Center right now. Didn't expect a LB as early as the late first round. But if he's the real deal LB Devin Lloyd could be a Big-Time player on the Jags Defense. LB was an area of need. I just didn't expect the LB pick that quick late in the first round, had to trade some other picks to accomplish this. So the Jags front office is a big believer in LB Devin Lloyd out of Utah. I hope number 1 overall pick Georgia DE Travon Walker will be a good or even Great pass rusher! The Ole Miss RB pick has some value I feel. He knows where the End Zone is. The Jacksonville Jaguars getting two young but veteran NFL wide receivers in Free agency in Christian Kirk and now Zay Jones as discussed in this article. Could mean with Marvin Jones Jr. already on the roster as well along with WR Laviska Shenault the Jaguars will be able to concentrate more on the offensive line & possible the Defensive line early in the Draft with maybe a WR along the way perhaps in the 3rd round or later like the 4th or 5th round. Needs I see in the Draft include O-line & D- line help, there's a need now at LB and maybe Safety too. The TE room appears to be pretty full now unless they just find a guy that falls to them in the April "NFL" that they like alot.
